Navistar is seeking a Project Engineer. Engine Integration System is responsible for the development of Air Intake System, Front End Accessory Drive, Oil Fill System and Accelerator Pedal System from concept to production. EIS is also responsible for all the releases related to engine components and lead the investigation and resolution of current product issues. Ability to perform as an experienced Design Engineer
Responsibilities:
Concept design, detailed design and development, and release of Engine Integration System for new products.
Will be working on different systems such as Air Filtration System, Front End Accessory Drive (FEAD) System, and Oil Fill system.
Desire to learn new Technologies and incorporate into products.
Work closely with Program Management (PMO), Suppliers, Procurement, Validation, Reliability and Quality, Supplier Quality and Manufacturing to meet program deliverables. Ability to lead investigation of current product and warranty issues.
CAD model and print generation in UG-NX/Team Center environment. Support supplier requested design changes and help resolve quality concerns with guidance from experienced engineering team member. Creation of DFMEAs and DVPs with guidance.
Work closely with Program teams to follow Product Development Process
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
At least 5 years of experience in product design/development
OR
Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
At least 3 years of experience in product design/development
OR
PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology
Additional Requirements:
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills:
Prior experience with development of mechanical systems and components preferably in automotive and commercial vehicles.
Experience using Unigraphics UG-NX or any CAD related modeling software.
Ability to think outside-the-box and be innovative.
Ability to work in a team environment; to interface with suppliers and cross-functional teams to achieve timely execution of assigned projects. Familiarity with design quality tools such as: UG-NX Team Center.
Prior experience in Failure Modes Effects Analysis (DFMEA) & DVP.
Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Knowledge of Basic Dimensional Management (GD&T).
Good communication skills.
Critical thinking and problem solving.
